Our Next 3 Events –

Event 1 – Coaching – A Sporting Perspective – University of Edinburgh – 23rd August 2017

James [Jaz] Lamb has carved an extraordinary career in an unconventional industry.  He has spent a professional lifetime performing, and, coaching skiing and sailing to international levels and has built an industry leading business.

He has been an internationally recognised skier for over 2 decades and represented Great Britain at the 2011 & 2015 Interski Congress.  As a sailor he has won national and international sailing regattas.

Along with considerable sports specific qualifications he studied a post graduate Diploma in Elite Sports Coaching and went on to coach the Scottish National Freestyle ski team.  He is current Great Britain BASI Demo Team Coach and has coached many 100’s of individual instructors through their professional qualifications.  On the water he has worked with crews of up to 15 people on boats ranging from 20ft to 65ft in preparation for club, national and international sailing regattas.

As a coach educator has trained and assessed ski instructors for over 20 years through the highest international level qualifications, he takes a lead role in designing and delivering the staff training to coach the BASI Training and Examining staff.

He is a founding Director of the British Alpine Ski School in Morzine, France and has built the school into a recognised industry leader and centre of coaching excellence.   He also sits on the Board of Directors for British Association of Snowsport Instructors.

This remarkable background gives him a unique and valuable perspective on coaching and performing in a sporting and business environment.

This workshop will be a chance to deepen your coaching understanding and have your perspectives challenged.

The topics covered will include goal setting, measuring success and the importance of failure.

The session will also include opportunities for open discussion on any coaching topic in a sporting and business environment.
