What is Coaching Supervision?

"Coaching supervision as time set aside on a regular basis to reflect on current practice and with another coach, who helps the reflective process by listening, analysing and questioning. The outcome of a session is to promote professional and personal development, identifying the solutions to problems, provide support and achieve continuous improvement by improving standards."

Peter Hill 2005

Whilst supervision is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended as a way of enhancing your style and approach. Over the next few years as the standards develop in the field of professional and executive coaching, it is expected that mandatory supervision will be required by a number of leading bodies in the field. Certainly from CFM's point of view we have informed the Scottish Quality Management System (SQMS) that we have made available supervisors for our coaches. CFM have registered with SQMS as a way of developing a quality approach to our systems and processes.
