Deena de Vries-Jones

Deena De Vries-Jones is an accomplished executive and business coach, specialising in behavioural and competency change with over six years experience in the field.

Deena was recognised early on as having a unique ability to quickly establish rapport and trust with a wide variety of people. This proved to be a natural catalyst to developing her passion for coaching years ago when she was the line manager of an HR team of twenty people who were in the process of going to a shared service resource. Informal coaching was a necessary part of the job to ensure not only a successful transition but a team that felt both motivated and empowered until their leaving dates.

After that Deena wanted to plunge into coaching and was trained as an internal coach through Unilever’s program who used the accomplished companies of The Works Partnership and Interaction as coaching trainers. From there it was a swift process to her consistently coaching 10 individuals and becoming lead coach of the Coaching for High Performance Network for Unilever UK. The network consisted of approximately twenty performance based coaches and several behavioural coaches. Deena oversaw relationship management, evaluation of coaching relationships, analysis of return on investment for the company and also the group of coach’s ongoing development and supervision.

Deena describes herself as a tool people use to affect their personal change agendas. She believes everyone has the internal resources and potential to achieve whatever they desire. She sees her role and responsibility to develop their resources through empowerment and inspiration. Deena sees a large part of coaching as assisting the client to see what a wide range of choices they have available to them and empowering them to choose the way they want to meet their goals, creating permanent change.

Deena has been privileged to coach people throughout the globe and has also has worked with individuals from many levels within organisations, from fast track graduate trainees to senior Vice Presidents.

Currently, Deena is adding to her hundreds of hours of experience by working on her professional qualification. She is obtaining her advanced credential through the Academy of Executive Coaching, which is both ICF and EMCC accredited. A master practitioner of NLP, Deena is also a holder of a BPS level B certificate which means she is licensed to both administer and interpret psychometric tools such as 16PF, 15FQ and JTI. Additionally she is also qualified to administer and interpret MBTI I & II, FRIO B and WSA. Deena is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, European Mentoring and Coaching Council and Association for Coaching.

Deena is a native Southern Californian but choose the European lifestyle and moved to London in 1990. She still lives near London with her husband of 15 years and their cat. Deena volunteers to raise money for a UK charity, sponsoring walk-a-thons and team activities.

HCD has offices in Singapore, Japan, Philippines, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the UK with representation in the United States. Malaysia and Australia are targeted for opening in 2008.
