Background
I am a self employed coach and team development facilitator who has had a long and varied career in the drinks industry, financial sector and more recently independent consulting. I specialise in applying a complementary blend of coaching and mentoring capability to a range of industry sectors. With a strong functional background in Supply Chain and Manufacturing, this allows me to provide a fairly unique offering.
What Inspired You To Go Into Coaching?
I began my early career as a Brewer with the Guinness organisation. As their first female brewer, it came with many challenges such as cultural acceptance. However, I never felt these were insurmountable. Other barriers such as tasting 24 pints of Guinness before lunchtime did challenge me from time to time! Throughout my career, I gained an immense amount of experience developing teams. What I now recognise as coaching and facilitating change in an industry that was undergoing major change was exhausting and highly stressful! It was at this point that I became particularly self-aware and began, out of necessity to coach myself on a daily basis.
I guess I was thrown without much training into the world of coaching and didn’t recognise it for what it was at the time. The stress this can cause a relatively inexperienced line manager can be significant.
Throughout the following years, I have used that self coaching many times, keeping a healthy perspective and never shying away from taking career changing decisions. It is this long held belief in the effectiveness of coaching that inspired me to take it up professionally.
Key Qualifications & Training
I am qualified in Professional Development and Coaching and am qualified to administer and interpret a wide range of psychometric tools through the British Psychological Society.
In addition, I have an MBA, a Degree in Microbiology, a Masters in Engineering, and am an Associate of the Institute of Brewing.

Greatest Coaching Moment
This is a hard one as I would hope that all my coaching moments have been great for the person who matters, the coachee. However, one of my greatest coaching moments is selfishly a personal coaching moment, when I was faced with my first freelance assignment. I believe it is vital for any coach to be completely in tune with their own focus and coaching needs in order to be at peace with yourself long enough to be of use to the client.
What Is Your Vision For Your Coaching?
My vision for coaching is that it eventually becomes a way of life for people whether in the work place or in their private lives. A healthy perspective and ability to see challenges clearly and make rational decisions is a skill that pays dividends in life in general.
Philosophy
Consider the impact of what you do to others, be proud of your achievements however small they may seem and always praise your kids !!
